“The Quilts of Betty King”

 Where: Brookside Quiltworks  2 Sheffield Rd., South Egremont MA

When:   Saturday,  April 7^th,   Noon – 3pm

 Betty’s quilts will be on exhibit through June.

This exhibit is our first one person show.  It is amazing that one person’s work can fill all of the space in the gallery.  Yes, we used every last hook and rod to hang this amazing collection.  That is over 40 quilts and that is not all of Betty’s quilts.  She also makes bags, clothing and hooked wool rugs.  I am going to try and learn her secret to being so prolific on our trip to Ireland together this June for the first International Quilt Festival of Ireland. Also, since our first themed exhibit was a huge success we are already planning the next, which will be “things that hold”, which will be on exhibit in July of 2013.  So begin planning now and we hope to see your quilt there.

 Brookside Quiltworks is located at the junction of Route 23 and Sheffield Road in South Egremont in beautiful Berkshire County! (across from the village green).

We currently offer over 1200 bolts of fabric to choose from; Moda, Benartex, Clothworks, Batiks, In the Beginning, Asian (just to name a few!), Wonder Fil and Invisifil threads, books, kits, patterns, batting, Gingher rotary cutters (left and right handed), replacement blades, Olfa cutting mats, notions and more exciting stuff is on its way! From Pittsfield; Take route 7 South through Great Barrington. Follow signs for route 23 West  approx. 3 1/2 miles to South Egremont,  you will pass the Egremont Country Club on your left. Another 1/2 mile on your left is our gray barn, #2 Sheffield Road immediately after the Village Green Memorial.

From Hudson, NY; Take route 23 East, through Hillsdale then passed Catamount Ski area on your right, continue East to South Egremont staying on Route 23. You will pass Kenvers Ski Shop on your right, we are three doors down where the road forks on the right hand side in the gray barn, #2 Sheffield Road.

From Connecticut; Take route 7 north through Sheffield watching for the Egremont Sheffield Road cutoff just beyond The Bridge Restraunt. Take a left on Egremont Sheffield Road following along until you enter town, our barn will be on your left at the intersection with route 23, #2 Sheffield Road.

 PARKING

Parking is available directly on the side of the barn AND just West of the barn in the next driveway of the cream colored  house, #29. There is also limited parking around the Village Green Memorial across from the shop as well but not on the main roads please.
